Understanding Roles

Brew offers two role types to help you manage team permissions effectively:

Owner

Full access and control:

  • Manage team members (invite/remove)
  • Manage billing and subscription
  • Access all features and settings
  • Promote members to Owner role

Member

Standard access:

  • Create and edit emails
  • Access analytics
  • Manage contacts and audiences
  • Use all email creation features

When you create a Brew account, you’re automatically assigned the Owner role. You can promote other team members to Owner if needed.

Managing Team Members

Changing Member Roles

If you’re an Owner, you can change team member roles:

  1. Go to Settings → Team
  2. Find the team member you want to modify
  3. Click the (more options) menu next to their name
  4. Select Change Role
  5. Choose the new role and confirm

Removing Team Members

To remove someone from your team:

  1. Go to Settings → Team
  2. Find the team member you want to remove
  3. Click the (more options) menu next to their name
  4. Select Remove from Team
  5. Confirm the removal

When you remove a team member, they will lose access to your Brew workspace immediately. If they were in the middle of creating or editing content, those changes might not be saved.

Changing Your Login Email

To update the email address you use to log in to Brew:

1

Ensure you have Owner permissions

Only account Owners can change their login email

2

Invite your new email address

  1. Go to Settings → Team
  2. Invite your new email address as a team member
  3. Select the Owner role for this new email address
3

Accept the invitation

  1. Open the invitation email sent to your new email address
  2. Click the invitation link to accept (use an incognito window or different browser)
  3. Complete the account setup
4

Remove your old email address

Once your new email address has Owner access, you can safely remove your old email address from the team

Make sure you have access to your new email address before starting this process. If you lose access to both email accounts, you may need to contact Brew support to recover your account.

Leaving a Team

If you want to leave a team and you’re not the only Owner:

  1. Go to Settings → Team
  2. Click the (more options) menu next to your name
  3. Select Leave Team
  4. Confirm your decision

If you’re the only Owner of the team, you cannot leave. You must either promote another member to Owner first or contact Brew support to close the account.
